French artist Françoise Nielly does fascinating paintings full of energy and flourescent colours.

Coming from Monterrey they are virtually unknown out of mexico but really deserve all attention possible. their incredibly cool single track "fiebre de jack" is a super cool rolling hommage to all victims of "discofever" including oriental solos, INXS indie guitars, saxophones, string arrangements and pumping electro beats. It´s time to bring a bunch of indie mexicans here to Sao Paulo for one night.

The Fat Monkey was created during the sao paulo pixelshow with the help of local students and made from the brazilian icon; the flip flop which obviously works as one of the 10.000 pixels.

VOODOOSTOCK is finally happening...!

My friends from Sao Paulo underground art project "voodoohop" team up with some people more experienced in throughing raves somewhere on the countryside. it´s supposed to be some sort of farm in the middle of nowhere - an hour from the center of sao paulo.

the voodoostock organisation did a really democratic call for submissions... all entrys, like bands / people selling tea / massage professionals / nudists or djs were recruited through facebook. whoever can spit fire is on the lineup!

i am really happy to play the day2 midday slot - sunday at 11:30h - see who´s left by then... gonna play softrock, softsoul and lots of lovesongs!

this is an incredible stopmotion movie which took director tomislav topic almost 5 months, 150 l colors, 250 qm wood and 350 qm construction material to do 5 minutes 11sec. check it out - superb graphics in stopmotion.

ROBBO vs. BANKSY

just recently Banksy painted over an original 80ies piece by londons oldschool grafitti legend Robbo.

"...it was probably the oldest piece still standing, which was from the 80s and it was from acompletely different era. It might have been tagged and bombed but it was still a part of history, whether it was mine or not."

incredible story - according to Robbo grafitti superstar banksy did this just for getting shitloads of press and people start talking about him again.

THE DRUMS

Just released - the debut album of Brooklyns indie band The Drums!

really like their style... already fell in love with "Let´s Go Surfing" which came out last year,

check out the video... will start listening to their album now for the next couple of weeks!

here´s what the rough trade shop says...:

the drums have a fresh, sparkling blend of '80s pop (reminiscent of a simpler stone roses) and '50s / '60s surf / beach style with a dreamy, but not overdone, reverb that swims throughout the whole album. the quartet pump out spiky post-punk jams spiced up with whistling, schoolyard chants, eighties synths and so much joyous hand clapping, you'd think you were at a high school pep rally. each track is a golden pop nugget with energy that is explosive. the hooks are simple and obvious, yet each song sounds so fresh and perfect.

this is about having fun;

this is about falling in love;

this is about falling out of love;

this is about wanting to fall back into love,

but always remember, this is about having fun.
